    Introducing the ISAP2021 Special Sessions

    The ISAP2021 Organising Committee is pleased to announce the selected Special Sessions for the virtual conference.

    The Special Sessions will allow for a focused look at more specific topics not covered by the key sessions of the conference. They will be more hands-on, allowing attendees to learn best practices, discuss examples, case studies, and practical strategies.

    The selected Special Sessions are as follows:

    Algae-based bioplastics - hosted by Masatoshi Iji (Researcher, ABES, University of Tsukuba)

    The next frontiers of algae cultivation for food and fuel - hosted by Philip T. Pienkos (CEO, Polaris Renewables)

    Synthetic biology of microalgae - hosted by Jian Xu (Director and Professor, Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences)

    Botryococcus braunii and its applications - hosted by Jack Legrand (Professor, GEPEA, University of Nantes)

    Strains selection of microalgae for large scale commercial production - hosted by Avigad Vonshak (Professor, Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, Ben-Gurion University)

    Seaweed Biosecurity: developing a progressive management pathway for the seaweed industry - hosted by Phaik Eem Lim (Professor, University of Malaya)

    Algal wastewater treatment: current status and future perspectives - hosted by John R. Benemann (CEO, MicroBio Engineering Inc)

    Cyanobacteria in biocrusts: from biology to biotechnology - hosted by Roberto De Philippis (Professor, DAGRI, University of Florence)

    The 7th Conference of the International Society of Applied Phycology (ISAP2021) has just re-opened the call for abstract (deadline Nov 16 2020)

    After careful consideration and in coordination with our local authorities,
    the ISAP 2020 has been rescheduled for the May 23 - 28, 2021 at International Congress Center, EPOCHAL TSUKUBA.
    Registration for the original conference, April 19 - 24, 2020 will be valid for the rescheduled dates.
    Registered persons will be notified during the next few days with details about refunding policies, as well as authors about re-submitting or withdrawing of abstracts.
